(+84) 898 898 688Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh City had a meeting to discuss the construction of Cat Lai Bridge, connecting Nhon Trach District of Dong Nai Province with District 2 of Ho Chi Minh City. Initially, Dong Nai will implement the project.
At the meeting, Mr. Tran Van Vinh, Vice Chairman of Dong Nai People’s Committee, suggested that the province accept the responsibility of constructing the bridge because the local authorities need more bridge construction, so they want to take the lead in implementing the project. Mr. Nguyen Van Tam, deputy director of HCMC Department of Transportation, agreed with this proposal. In HCM City, there are many jobs, the budget is not concentrated, it is difficult to deploy quickly, so it is reasonable for Dong Nai to implement the project. It is expected that the project will commence in 2020.
Cat Lai Bridge connecting District 2 (HCMC) with Nhon Trach District (Dong Nai Province) will be built to replace the current Cat Lai ferry. Total length and path of the bridge about 4 km, cross section 60 m. Once completed, there will be 4 motor lanes and 2 mixed lanes for transportation.
The first point of Cat Lai Bridge connects to My Thot intersection (District 2, Ho Chi Minh City) and the end of the bridge will be about 1.2 km away from the existing ferry terminal in Phu Huu Commune, Nhon Trach City ( Dongnai province). On the alignment, the project runs along Nguyen Thi Dinh street to the beginning of internal road no. 21, turn right across Dong Nai river, toward Ly Thai To street – in Nhon Trach urban area, then turn left to connect with road Ly Thai To.
The project has a total investment budget of more than VND5,700 billion (not including interest and investment returns). In particular, the cost of compensation for ground clearance is about VND1,225 billion.
Previously, in May 2017, after the Prime Minister agreed on the policy, Ho Chi Minh City urgently began researching the implementation of the Cat Lai Bridge construction project and at the same time to implement many improvements and upgrades road , to build the intersection of American Water …, to reduce the congestion situation, accidents around this area.
However, due to the speed of urban development, the demand for travel increased rapidly, leading to the pressure of traffic on the roads around the port of Cat Lai increasingly.
According to the HCM City Department of Transportation, traffic in and out of Cat Lai is on average 16,000 vehicles per day, up to 19,000, nearly double Capacity of the surrounding roads. The most severe occurred on Nguyen Thi Dinh, when all of the vehicles entering the terminal above the same Cat Lai ferry have to pass through this route.
In the Cat Lai area, HCM City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay expressway connects Ho Chi Minh City with Dong Nai, Ba Ria – Vung Tau … However, this highway is suffering from heavy traffic pressure. Only for cars to circulate. Therefore, the need to travel, the connection between District 2, Ho Chi Minh City with Dong Nai and Ba Ria – Vung Tau, depends much on Cat Lai ferry.
Not only help people escape the scene “across the river fang”, Cat Lai bridge is expected to pull down the congestion, relax people and turn Nhon Trach (Dong Nai) into the outskirts of Ho Chi Minh City.
According to many experts in the field of infrastructure planning, the Cat Lai area has high-speed Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh-Gouau connecting Ho Chi Minh City with the South East but the main route is still connected to Phan Thiet , Da Lat. Not to mention, the highway only for cars, and motorcycles and other rudimentary vehicles if you want from Long Thanh to Ho Chi Minh City, you have to go far. Therefore, the future of Cat Lai Bridge will be a great connection between Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai and Ba Ria – Vung Tau, helping the road from Sai Gon to Vung Tau to reduce more than a dozen kilometers. You do not have to wait for the ferry.
In parallel with the external roads such as Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay expressway, Vanh Dai 2 road, Cat Lai also owns a complete internal transportation system, such as Vo Van Kiet avenue, Phu My bridge, My Thuy bridge, Saigon 2 bridge, Thu Thiem 1 bridge, and Saigon river crossing. This is not to mention Cat Lai Bridge (connecting District 2 with Dong Nai). Once this project is underway, this project, along with the intersection of My Thuy will certainly create a new look for District 2 in general and create momentum for Cat Lai urban area “take off”.
Thanks to the improved transport system, the movement of residents has become easier. Accordingly, from Cai Lai urban area, residents only take 10 minutes to move to the facilities outside the international standards such as ACG International School, Phuc An Khang International Hospital, Parkson, Vincom Mega Mall. , BigC, Metro An Phu, …
Meanwhile, since the construction of Cat Lai Bridge, the housing market of Nhon Trach suddenly became more vibrant, investors are pouring in here looking for new opportunities, “hunt” for the plot. beautiful land, suitable price. Many main routes have many trading floors, more active land stork.
According to the land stall, the number of people traveling from HCM City to the main roads has increased. The price of land has started to increase, about 20% compared to the previous year. A series of large projects are being built in Nhon Trach, waiting for benefits from the Cat Lai Bridge Project, typically Swan Bay project of Swan City investor, King Bay project of Freeland investor …
