On the afternoon of September 21, the Road Administration has worked with investors, enterprises to upgrade the project of Phap Van – Cau Gie. After the meeting, the two sides agreed to reduce the price of using road services Phap Van – Cau Gie route, the Ministry of Transport to reduce the fare on the route.

Accordingly, the reduction period will be from 15 Ocotber 2017. All vehicles on the route will be 25% off fare compared to current prices.

The investment project to upgrade the Phap Van-Cau Gie route was invested in the form of BOT between the Ministry of Transport and the Investor Joint Venture (Minh Phat Construction and Investment Development Corporation, CIENCO1). Phuong Thanh Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company. The project enterprise is Pho Van – Cau Gio BOT Joint Stock Company.

It is known that the project is implemented from the third quarter of 2014, put into operation phase 1 on 30 September 2015. Total investment of the project: VND6,731 billion. Of which, the equity of investors was VND 823,147 billion; loans of VND5.908 trillion.

“Investors and enterprises investing in upgrading the Phap Van-Cau Gieen route have been working with the Vietnam Road Administration to negotiate. Phap Van – Cau Gie, to the Ministry of Transport (MOT) discount tickets using the road on the route, which began to reduce charges from 15 Ocotber 2017. The route is reduced 25% of ticket price compared with the current price, “said Pham Van Khoi, Chairman of the Board of Directors, General Director of Phuong Thanh Tranconsin Co. – BOT project investor Phap Van – Cau Gie.

According to Mr. Khoi, Vietnam Road Administration has also requested the Ministry of Transport to assign the specialized agencies to adjust the financial plan and adjust the investment contract to upgrade the Phap Van – Cau Gie route accordingly. According to the plan to the Ministry of Transport, by 2021 will begin to increase fares back with an increase of 18% and then every 3 years increase once, each increase of 18%.

The representative of the BOT project said that the reduction was based on the tank flow. The increase is evenly reduced by 25%. Accordingly, cars under 9 seats to go off the route from 45,000 per turn will drop to 35,000 per turn. If not reduced, the collection period can be reduced to 11 to 12 years, but with the flow of cars up, the price drops, the expected revenue will remain about 17 years.
