Because, besides wondering about the huge amount of money spent, the comments worried the country added a symbol of waste, inefficiency. The evidence present in front of the opinions cited at that time is the Museum of Hanoi with investment capital of more than VND 2,000 billion to build the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long – Hanoi. Finished but the Museum of Hanoi is still deserted.
After many comments, in August 2015 Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung then concluded that the investment in the construction of the National Museum of History is necessary. This is the policy of the Party and State for many years.
The museum project is scheduled to start in 2021, completed and put into use in 2024.
Since then, the project has been quietly quiet. Until recently, the Ministry of Construction has submitted a report to the Prime Minister regarding this museum project.
Content reported “lament” about the lack of money for the start-up of the project.
“Although the Ministry of Construction, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has repeatedly proposed, however, up to now, investment preparation funds for 2015, 2016, 2017 and medium capital plan 2016-2020 deadline is still not available, “the ministry said.
As a consequence, according to this agency, the PMUs (including the content development board and the exhibition form under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) do not have the funds to maintain the operation. and payment of wages and social insurance contributions to officials and employees, and there is no budget to pay for the contractor’s commitments (including the contract with Nikken-Sekkei Company, Japan) as well as implementation of other work of the project to be ready to kick off the project in 2021 under the direction of the Prime Minister at the meeting of the Government on 13 August 2015.
Facing this situation, the Ministry of Construction proposed the Prime Minister to consolidate and hold a meeting of the State Steering Committee to build the National History Museum to hear the Ministry of Construction, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism reported Specific implementation status of the project and direct the orientation to remove difficulties and obstacles. At the same time, the Ministry of Construction requested the Prime Minister to instruct the relevant ministries and sectors to continue implementing the Prime Minister’s conclusion at the Government Standing Meeting on 13 August 2015 on the Public Construction Investment Project the National Museum of History.
The project of building the National History Museum with total investment of VND 11,277 billion, excluding the cost of the investment component for the construction of contents and forms of exhibitions sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Ministry of Construction said that the goal of the project is to build a modern museum with advanced technology and scale of investment, large area to overcome limitations on content, area and nature. and the scale of the content of the current display, well meet the conservation, storage, collection, display of exhibits; operation, management, exploitation and training; To serve the needs of sightseeing, scientific research, study, teaching and dissemination of knowledge about the country’s history, culture and science.
The project has four main categories: the main building; monumental memorial; outdoor showroom; technical support items, trees, landscapes. In particular, the main building was built on the land more than 20,000 sqm, the floor area of nearly 90,000 sqm, the maximum height of 32.5m.
