As VietnamFinance mentioned, the Prime Minister signed Decision No. 36 dated July 29, 1977 establishing Thai Binh Economic Zone including 30 communes, 1 town in 2 districts Thai Thuy and Tien Hai. Thai Thuy district consists of 14 communes and 1 town; Tien Hai district consists of 16 communes.

Thai Binh economic zone has a natural area of ​​more than 30,000 ha, the northern border of Hai Phong city; in the south and south-west by Nam Dinh province; The East Sea borders the East Sea with more than 50 km of coastline and the western borders of the remaining communes of Thai Thuy and Tien Hai.

The economic zone includes functional areas such as the Thai Binh power center; industrial parks and clusters; port and port services; tourist resorts and recreation areas; the distribution of aquaculture and coastal protection forests; residential area.

The main development objective of Thai Binh Economic Zone is to maximize the advantages of natural conditions and position in connecting economic, trade and services with neighboring areas, contributing to the narrow the distance between this area and other regions in the whole country and the Red River delta; To closely combine investment attraction and economic development with the maintenance of national defense and security, preserving and promoting the values ​​of the marine eco-systems and historical and cultural relics in the region.

At the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Hong Dien, Member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of Thai Binh People’s Committee, said that the establishment of Thai Binh economic zone is a long-awaited wish of Party, government and people in the province. This is an economic zone with convenient connections to Dinh Vu Port, Lach Huyen Port, Cat Bi Airport (Hai Phong) and Van Don Economic Zone (Quang Ninh).

In the coming time, local authorities will urgently select consultants to implement the plan of Thai Binh Economic Zone completed in the first quarter of this year; directing the communes to review the planning to suit the model of the economic zone; Establish mechanisms to promote investment attraction.

It is known that the development road of Thai Binh Economic Zone will go through 3 stages. Phase 1 (up to 2020) focuses on strengthening the management apparatus; mobilizing resources for infrastructure investment; complete planning.

Phase 2 (2021-2025), attracting investment to develop priority areas; training and attracting human resources; Infrastructure construction of urban motive power.

Phase 3 (2025-2030), perfecting the infrastructure of Thai Binh economic zone in a synchronous manner and attracting modern industries; To develop civilized cities linked to production and business areas.

At the ceremony, the People’s Committee of Thai Binh province announced the establishment of the Steering Committee, the Management Board of the economic zone and industrial parks of 31 provinces led by Mr. Nguyen Hong Dien as Chairman; Mr. Pham Van Ca, Standing Vice Chairman of Thai Binh People’s Committee cum Chief of Management Board of Economic Zones and Industrial Parks of Thai Binh Province, Mr. Khuc Van Luong as Standing Vice Chairman, Mr. Le Van The as the deputy head.
