Ba Ria – Vung Tau Want To Build A Double Purpose Airport In Dat Do District

The leader of this province approves the putting forward of building a double purpose of Ho Tram Project Limited that can take an Airbus 321 or the same.

The vice president of People Committee of Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province just signed a report to ask Ministry of Defense to judge, introduce Ho Tram Project Limited to conduct procedures to invest in The project of building a double purpose airport at Loc An Ward, Dat Do District.

Mr. Long said that this province allows an investor to open an airport and asks to add this project to the scheme of developing transport traffic aviation in the stage to 2020 and orient to 2030.

Before that, at the end of April 2017, Warfare Statistical Bureau – General Staff co-operated with Ho Tram Project Limited to check the scene of an expected area for building a double purpose airport.

This airport has an area of 200 hectares, has an airway of 2.500 m, 4C level, can take all kinds of the airplane like Airbus A320, Airbus A321, Boeing 737… with a total amount of expected investing about 100 million USD which was jointed capital to invest by Ho Tram Project Limited.

This project if it is gone through an investing guideline will have a strong pushing effect to attract the amount of tourist inside and outside the country to visit and rest in this province.

At present, Ba Ria – Vung Tau has 2 available airports, including Vung Tau airport serving helicopter (petroleum and military) and Con Dao airport in Con Dao district serving the moving demand of residents and tourists from Ho Chi Minh City to Con Dao.

According to the people, The project of Ho Tram complex tourist area invested by Ho Tram Project Limited has come into use the block A1 (including a block of the 5-star hotel with 541 rooms, playing zone for foreigners and adding services); an international standard of an 18-hole golf course. The total amount of investing capital until now for the building is almost 800 million USD.

According to the Company’s report, every year The Tourist Area attracts about 200.000 tourists. However, because of a location of the project is too far away from Tan Son Nhat international airport, tourists mainly approach by walking way so it takes much time, thus decrease the possibility of approaching of international tourists.
