What does Bau Hien say about the billion dollar urban railway project?

Mr.Do Quang Hien, Chairman of T & T Group, said the project is expected to be reported to the Prime Minister and submitted to the National Assembly in June.

The above information was shared by Mr. Do Quang Hien (Reporter) to the press after accompanying Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong on official visit to France.

T & T Group has signed a memorandum of understanding with Bouygues, France’s leading construction group, in the presence of leaders from the two countries.

In the first phase of the urban rail project, T & T will perform 6km

The T & T urban railway is 31.1km long, running along the 32nd highway linking Hanoi city center with Son Tay town (Nhon – Troi – Phung – Vanh Dai 4 – Son Tay) .

Total investment in the project is estimated at 1.4 billion euros. The project is divided into many phases, investment according to the roadmap. T & T’s first phase is expected to be about 6km.

According to Mr. Hien, urban railways are a key project with an investment capital of more than VND10 trillion and should be reported to the Prime Minister and passed by the National Assembly. It is expected that this project will be submitted to the National Assembly in June.

Bien Hien confirmed that T & T has been well prepared for the urban railway project. Ten months ago, T & T signed up for the project with Hanoi.

President of T & T Group said: “For urban rail projects, the implementation is very complex, large capital size requires large corporations to accompany, so first of all demonstrate the capacity , followed by the study of very careful positioning station stops.TEDI work is currently surveyed, studied very carefully but for the study of detailed technical design needs to foreign corporations “.

Hien said that the cooperation between T & T and Bouygues will open a new wave of investment of the “big” France into Vietnam in the coming time.

Many French businesses are looking to increase their presence in Southeast Asia by investing in large projects. And Vietnam is a name that French investors pay special attention to.

Disclosing the process of negotiating with Bouygues, Hien expressed that initially the corporation only wanted to participate in urban rail projects at the stage of design, consulting and general contractor; not involved in arranging capital.

However, T & T declined and requested additional support arrangements. According to Hien, “that can pull the big financial institutions of France to follow.”

After reviewing the proposal, Bouygues agreed to “shake hands” with T & T.

Bouygues is the leading construction conglomerate in France with annual revenues of $ 33 billion. The handshake with Bouygues will open up to T & T many great opportunities.

As Mr. Do Quang Hien, in addition to the support of capital, this cooperation also gives T & T the opportunity to learn about technology, experience management and operation of the project.
