Deputy Prime Minister hastes the progress of Long Thanh Airport project

Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung has instructed the implementation of the project of land acquisition, compensation, support and resettlement of Long Thanh International Airport.

According to the Government Office, in order to meet the requirements of speeding up the project of land acquisition, compensation, support and resettlement of Long Thanh International Airport, the Deputy Prime Minister requested the ministries, branches and the People’s Committee Dong Nai province performs a number of tasks.

Specifically, the Ministry of Transport focused on speeding up the feasibility study report of Long Thanh International Airport, Phase 1 to be submitted to the National Assembly for approval at the year-end 2019.

On that basis, the Ministry of Communications and Transport should develop a roadmap for the implementation of specific work items in line with the progress of submission to the National Assembly; Take the next steps, such as: arranging capital (including loans, state budget funds, social mobilization capital …) and prepare the medium-term plan for the next period as regulated.

The Ministry of Transport shall assume the prime responsibility for, and coordinate with the Dong Nai People’s Committee, the Ministry of Construction, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and concerned agencies in, planning the synchronous transport connection with the whole and outside of Long Thanh Airport.

The Ministry of Construction shall coordinate with the People’s Committee of Dong Nai province and concerned agencies in elaborating urban development planning in the area around Long Thanh airport; In the course of implementation, they may exchange and learn from international experiences (if necessary), ensuring compatibility with development plannings of relevant branches and domains.

The PM also asked the ministries to lead the members of the State Appraisal Council to coordinate and guide the Dong Nai People’s Committee to soon complete the project feasibility study report.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment shall soon complete the evaluation of the environmental impact assessment report of the project; Coordinating and guiding Dong Nai People’s Committee in carrying out the land recovery work to clear the ground for investment project to build Long Thanh International Airport.
