The government decided to establish thai binh economic zone

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has just signed Decision No. 36/2017 on the establishment of Thai Binh Economic Zone in Thai Binh province.

According to the above decision, Thai Binh Economic Zone is a coastal economic zone consisting of 30 communes, 1 township in Thai Thuy, Tien Hai districts and contiguous coastal area.

In particular, Thai Thuy district includes 14 communes and 1 township: Diem Dien township; 16 communes of Thuy Hai, Thuy Luong, Thuy Ha, Thuy Tan, Thuy Truong, Thuy Xuan, Thuy Lien, Thai Nguyen, Thai Thuong, Thai Hoa, Thai Do, Thai Tho, Thai Xuyen, My Loc.

Tien Hai district consists of 16 communes: Dong Tra, Dong Hai, Dong Long, Dong Xuyen, Dong Hoang, Dong Minh, Dong Co, Dong Lam, Tay Giang, Tay Son, Nam Cuong, Nam Thang, Nam Thinh, Nam Thanh, Nam Hung, Nam Phu.

Thai Binh Economic Zone has a natural area of ​​30,583 ha. It borders Haiphong to the north via Hoa River, borders Nam Dinh Province to the South and the Southwest across the Red River, borders the East Sea to the East with more than 50 km of coastline, borders Tien Hai and Thai Thuy districts to the East.

Thai Binh economic zone includes functional areas such as Thai Binh power center; industrial zones, clusters; port and port services area; resorts and entertainment area; the area of ​​aquaculture and coastal protection forests; residential areas, urban areas, services; administrative region…

The main development objective of Thai Binh Economic Zone is to exploit the maximum capacity the  advantage of natural conditions and location in connecting economy, trade and services with neighboring areas, contributing to narrow the gap between this area and other regions of the country and the Red River Delta; to closely combine investment attraction and economic development with national defense security, preserving and promoting the values ​​of the marine eco-systems and historical and cultural relics in the region.

To build and develop Thai Binh economic zone to become an integrated economic zone with multi industries and breakthrough area of ​​Thai Binh province; To prioritize the development of industries in which can take advantage of the region’s potentials in natural gas and raw materials, linking with economic zones and industrial parks developed in the Red River delta; to combine the development of agriculture and aquaculture in areas of good land quality and abundant aquatic resources; to develop urban area, services and tourism suitable to the potential and demands of the region; to create jobs …
