Government inspector: Thu Thiem inspection will be announced in the first half of September

At the Government’s regular press conference this afternoon (30/8), Deputy Inspector General of Government Bui Ngoc Lam said has concluded inspection of Thu Thiem project (HCMC), expected first half of September to will announce.

According to the deputy chief of the Government Inspectorate, the land inspection at Thu Thiem project ended on July 11, based on comments from relevant agencies and the City People’s Committee.

“Currently the inspection has been conducted and is carrying out the related procedures, expected the first half of September, we will inform the media of the inspection conclusions,” Bui Ngoc Lam said.

Earlier, in May 2018, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc assigned the Government Inspectorate to review and clarify the content of complaints Thu Thiem residents about the land recovery, compensation, resettlement assistance When recovering land, to propose measures for settlement in accordance with the provisions of law. The Government Inspectorate must report the results before July 15.

At the same time, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the Ministry of Construction, the Ministry of Justice and the City People’s Committee. HCM has the responsibility to closely coordinate with the Government Inspectorate in the process of reviewing and settling complaints.

In addition, the Prime Minister asked People’s Committee of HCMC urgently review and resolve complaints of the people; Immediately implement the appropriate policies for people, especially those who have handed over land but have not received resettlement or coercive housing but have no accommodation, must immediately have the necessary solutions to take care of people not to the people too hard in life.

Thu Thiem Urban Area is located on Thu Thiem Peninsula, District 2, opposite District 1 via Saigon River, with a total area of ​​657ha. The peninsula is expected to become a financial and commercial hub of international stature and is expected to be the most beautiful urban area in Southeast Asia.
