Hanoi: 188 commercial buildings and high-rise buildings are at risk of fire

According to the People’s Council of Hanoi, there are still 188 commercial buildings and high-rise buildings in Hanoi that do not meet the fire safety requirements. Even, there are irreparable violations.

Hanoi People’s Council has reported the results of monitoring the use and management of high-rise buildings in the city. A series of apartments located in Hai Ba Trung, Cau Giay, Ba Dinh districts do not meet the requirements of fire prevention and fighting such as: apartment buildings (46/230 Lac Trung), apartment 250 Minh Khai, Apartment 671 Hoang Hoa Tham, apartment 130 Doc Ngoc …

There are 13 hotels in Ba Dinh district that do not meet fire prevention and fighting conditions, including Hanoi Hotel (D8 Giang Vo). Royal Gate Hotel (Quan Thanh), escape corridors are not guaranteed, water tanks are not fire fighting. Delight hotel (93A Doi Can) does not provide outside fire and smoke extraction system.

The report also identified a number of administrative offices that did not meet fire prevention requirements, including the Urban Rural Planning Institute (No. 10 Hoa Lu); International Conference Center (11 Le Hong Phong); State Treasury Ba Dinh (8 Kim Ma Thuong); Tax Department of Hanoi (187 Giang Vo); National Academy of Public Administration (77 Nguyen Chi Thanh); Mobile Police Command (23 Nguyen Khang); – Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (16 Thuy Khue).

Violations of the above mentioned buildings were stated by the Hanoi People’s Council as having not been accepted for fire prevention and control. There is only one staircase, not equipped with fire prevention and fighting system, not equipped with booster and smoke system or pump. Firefighting is not guaranteed.

Through monitoring, the City People’s Council proposed Hanoi People’s Committee to direct the police regularly check and detect violations in the apartment buildings; To inspect and handle in time the breach investors have not completed the pre-acceptance test of the project and put the people into the house in contravention of the provisions of law.
