HCM City has not recovered nearly 2.500sqm public land

The HCM City Inspectorate’s report for 2017 has just been released showing that public land management violations fall into the category of state-owned enterprises or non-business units.

The offense mainly focuses on non-business units, corporations, state companies which are allocated or leased land. Public land is used for improper purposes, illegally rented or vacated, causing waste.

HCM City has not recovered nearly 2.500sqm public land

The main reason comes from the loose management, irresponsibility of the units allocated land. A number of units and enterprises for local interests shall take advantage of the form of calling for investment or joint-venture cooperation in order to lease land or arrange their own cadres and employees to build houses.

According to the conclusions of the inspection, competent state agencies have been responsible for examining and handling public land use for wrong purposes.

In the recent inspection, the city discovered 103 false premises, in which corporations, affiliated units and enterprises with 100% state capital committed violations to 90 sites; People’s committees, administrative units violate 5 sites and 8 joint stock companies.

In this phase, the Inspectorate has proposed the handling of responsibility for 11 collectives and 34 individuals. So far, nearly VND 7,000 billion has been remitted to the state budget. The proposal to recover nearly 2,500 sqm of land is currently in the process of implementation.
