Thu Thiem 4 bridge has an investment of more than 5,200 billion VND, design cable stay, length 2.1 km including the main bridge connecting District 2 and 7 with 6 lanes.
The project was rated “in urgent condition and should be prioritized for implementation soon”.
On February 26, Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung gave instructions to invest in the construction of Thu Thiem 4 bridge and assigned the Ministry of Planning and Investment to assume the prime responsibility and coordinate with the Ministry of Communications and Transport, The People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City and relevant agencies will appraise and submit to the Prime Minister for decision the investment policy of investment project construction Thu Thiem 4, Ho Chi Minh City in accordance with the Law on Investment .
Accordingly, the Thu Thiem 4 bridge will have an investment of more than VND 5,200 billion invested by Phat Dat Real Estate Development Joint Stock Company – Infrastructure Investment and Development Joint Stock Company 620 – Construction Investment Development Joint Stock Company Build 168 as an investor. The Thu Thiem 4 bridge project was proposed by the HCMC PM for early construction to increase connectivity for Thu Thiem urban area and to solve traffic jams from the south to the center.
The Thu Thiem 4 bridge is 2.1 km long. It includes the main bridge connecting District 2 and 7 with 6 lanes. Nguyen Van Linh – Tan Thuan 2 bridge and two bridge sections from N1, N2 from the main bridge in District 7 to Huynh Tan Phat street.
This work has been identified by the city as “urgent, priority investment” to increase connectivity for Thu Thiem urban area and complete regional transportation system. Because Thu Thiem New Urban Area only connects to Binh Thanh District and District 1, it is not connected to Districts 4, 7 and The South Urban Area.
When Thu Thiem 4 bridge is completed, it will also relieve traffic pressure from Binh Thanh district, Thu Duc district through districts 7, 8, Binh Chanh, Nha Be (Thu Thiem 1 bridge – north-south road axis in Thu Thiem new urban area – Thu Thiem bridge 4); to contribute to promote socio-economic development.
As planned, there will be 5 bridges and a tunnel linking other areas of the city to the Thu Thiem urban area (District 2). Thu Thiem 1 bridge and Sai Gon crossing tunnel (connecting district 2 and district 1) were built and put into use. At the beginning of 2015, Thu Thiem 2 Bridge with a total capital of nearly VND 3,100 billion will be started and expected to be completed in 2018.
The Thu Thiem 4 bridge over the Saigon River is included in HCMC’s transport development plan up to 2020 with a vision after 2020. According to the investor, the project of Thu Thiem 4 bridge is expected to start in 2018 and will be completed and put into use by the end of 2019.
Southern real estate “excited”
The project of Thu Thiem 4 Bridge will not only help to move between Saigon South and neighboring areas such as District 2, Binh Thanh District, District 9 …. but help real estate in the South fly high in the future.
According to a survey from Rever, in just the past two years, a series of big estate developers have been launching high-end projects in the South Saigon area to catch up with regional infrastructure development. According to Le Hoang Chau, Chairman of HCMC Real Estate Association, the urban development of the South of the last time has a strong impact from the development of infrastructure in this area. Infrastructure here has been strong development in recent years thanks to the large investment of the city with the development orientation to the south, facing the sea.
In the period 2016 – 2020, HCM City still determines the development of the city with two main directions: east and south to the sea; Two directions are north-west and west, south-west.
To the south, the city clearly defined the development corridor as Nguyen Huu Tho, with special hydrological conditions, many rivers and canals, capable of developing urban land funds and developing of area infrastructure .
Only infrastructure projects with a total investment capital of more than 1,000 billion VND have been deployed. In the South Saigon area, a number of projects such as underground tunnels and overpasses at the Nguyen Van Linh – Nguyen intersection can be considered. Huu Tho; Expanding Nguyen Huu Tho Street; Kenh Te bridge 2 and Nguyen Khoai bridge connect District 7 with District 4; To build Rach Dia bridge, expand Le Van Luong street; Huynh Tan Phat road widened to 30m connecting to Nguyen Van Linh street …
That is not including the infrastructure projects connecting the center and the Thu Thiem urban area with the South as the project of Thu Thiem bridge 4, or the project “crisis” Metro No. 4 with investment up to 97,000 billion … All have been planned by the city.
Because major infrastructure projects are being kicked off, investors are expecting the South’s real estate market to have a “new wave” in the near future. Investors also started the race to build here with a series of prominent projects.
