HCMC: Set up resettlement fund for 8,500 apartments, land

From now to 2020, HCMC will retain more than 8,500 units, land for resettlement arrangements for the project. The rest, the city will hold auctions.

According to Tran Trong Tuan, Director of the Department of Construction. Currently, Ho Chi Minh City still has nearly 14,000 apartments and unused land for resettlement, causing waste while many people have no house.

Mr. Tuan said that in recent years, HCM has to buy and build house funds, resettlement land to implement urban projects in the area with clearance, clearance with more than 40,000 apartments and land. It has arranged more than 26,000 units, land and nearly 14,000 units, unused land.

According to the plan, from now to 2020, TP. HCM will retain more than 8,500 apartments, land to arrange resettlement for the project, the remaining will hold auctions. In the previous period, displaced people received apartments, there were more resellers, more profitable than the form of apartment resettlement.

According to Tran Trong Tuan, in the process of resettlement, HCMC also learned many lessons. In that it is impossible to mechanically arrange people from this area to remote areas, not convenient for living and work.

Instead, they need to be relocated on the spot, ensuring the best interests of the people. On the other hand will have to investigate sociology, forecasting the need for resettlement form, construction of social housing for rent.
