According to the HCM City Department of Transportation, this is due to the increasing traffic of mixed traffic through Cat Lai ferry. On the other hand, the flow of goods from the industrial zones along National Highway 51 and Nhon Trach urban area … is transported along the Hanoi Highway to the port system on the Saigon River more and more causing traffic jams via the Hanoi Highway.

Therefore, the City People’s Committee. Ho Chi Minh City has proposed to the Prime Minister to supplement the transport planning of Ho Chi Minh City until 2020 and the vision after 2020. Then, the road traffic will connect directly to District 2 with Nhon Trach through Cat Lai bridge.
