HCMC Will Build Two More Bridges In Nha Be District

On December 12, HCM City Vice Chairman Le Van Khoa chaired an interdisciplinary working group to tackle flood tides. At the meeting, Trung Nam Group proposed the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City to supplement the construction of two traffic bridges at Muong Chuoi drainage tunnel and Cay Kho drain to serve the travel of residence.

The bridges in the drainage area prevented the Chuong dynasty with the capital of VND 155 billion and the bridge in the Cai Khong drainage area with the capital of VND 267 billion. If approved by Ho Chi Minh City, Trung Nam Group will construct bridges simultaneously with storm control tide. Bridging capital will be invested by the Trung Nam Group in the form of BT.

Trung Nam Group is implementing the project to prevent tide flooding with consideration of climate change phase 1 with investment capital of nearly VND 10,000 billion. About the progress of the project, Trung Nam Group said that the main items of the project are being rushed construction.

Of which, there are six tidal drains with a width of 40-160 m. A pumping station at Ben Nghe sewer with a capacity of 12 Cubic Metre/sec. A pump station at Tan Thuan sewer with a capacity of 24 Cubic Metre/sec and a pump station at Phu Dinh sewer with a capacity of 18 Cubic Metre/sec.

The tidal flood control project is being rushed

In addition, the Trung Nam Group will build a dike along the Saigon River from Vam Thuat River to Kinh River, phase 1 with a length of nearly 8 km and 25 small slices with a 1-10 m span from Vam Thuat River to Muong River. Banana.

The site is located in Districts 1, 4, 7, 8 and in Nha Be and Binh Chanh districts with a total land area of 100 ha. The project must clear more than 300 households with more than 1,500 people displaced.

At present, six drainage gates between Ben Nghe, Tan Thuan, Phu Xuan, Muong Chuoi, Cay Kho and Phu Dinh have completed 6% -20%. The dike surrounding the river nearly 8 km also completed 17%.

After four months of implementation, the total capital of Trung Nam was nearly VND  1,500 billion. It is expected that the project will be put into use in April -2018.

Mr. Le Van Khoa said that due to the important nature of flood control project by the tide, departments will study the proposal of the Trung Nam Group before submitting to the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City for approval. This is a large project, which helps reduce tide flooding in the 570 sqm inner-city basin and is supervised by tens of millions of people in HCMC.

Previously, as we have already reported, the HCM City Party Committee and People’s Committee has assigned departments and districts to review and supplement the construction and implementation of the implementation program of Flood mitigation program 2016-2020. The goal of the program is to address the inundation situation in the central part of Ho Chi Minh City and part of the 570 sqm sub-basins with around 6.5 million people.

Simultaneously improve the water environment, increase water storage space and create urban landscapes, contributing to improving people’s life and environmental protection in Ho Chi Minh City.

The HCM City People’s Committee has petitioned the Prime Minister to approve the policy and authorize the city to approve the plan and organize the selection of investors to implement the project on the road on the no.1.

The Highland road number 1 has a route starting at the intersection of Cong Hoa Cong Hoa – Tran Quoc Hoan – Phan Thuc Duyen – Hoang Van Thu – Phan Dang Luu – Phan Xich Long – Phan Xich Long. Dien Bien Phu intersection and a branch of the Dien Bien Phu intersection, the remaining one will extend along Ngo Tat To Street – ending in front of Phu An Bridge (total length of line 1 is about 9, 5 km wide by 17.5 meters).

The value of road construction on the high No. 1 about  VND 15,000 billion, the cost of compensation for ground clearance is about VND 3,000 billion.
