Ho Chi Minh City banned digging 492 routes in 2017

Ho Chi Minh City will ban digging 492 sections, routes throughout the city to ensure long-term use. Of these, 264 roads are managed by the Department of Transportation and 228 are managed by the district.

On March 6, the HCM City Department of Transport said that in 2017, HCM City will ban digging 492 stretches of roads, routes to ensure long-term use.

The list of banned roads is scattered throughout the districts in Ho Chi Minh City. Of the 492 segments, the forbidden road has 264 road sections managed by the Department of Transportation and 228 road sections managed by the district.

Districts with the most banned roads are District 2, 8, 7, Binh Thanh, Hoc Mon Tan Binh, Tan Phu, Thu Duc. Many routes, the ban duration from now until the end of 2023.

Compared to 2016, the number of tracks that are forbidden for excavation this year is less than 138. According to the Department of Transport, in 2017 the list of roads forbidden to dig less is because many roads have expired the ban on digging and abandoned some of the alleyways as deemed unnecessary to put into the list.

Although many roads are banned from road construction, there are still some incidents in the infrastructure that can be handled in accordance with the regulations on construction of essential works within the scope of protection of road infrastructure in the area of Ho Chi Minh City.

In urgent cases, it is necessary to construct, the excavation of these roads will be considered by the Department of Transport and People’s Committees of districts in accordance with management decentralization as stipulated in Decision No. 09 of the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City issued in 2014.

The promulgation of the list of sections and routes are not allowed to dig in order to avoid the bluffing of roads leading to traffic and damage to the roads, especially for new roads or upgraded roads.
