On February 16, the project management board of Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien said that on February 18, the fence will be demolished Quach Thi Trang rotation before  Ben Thanh market to build the central. Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien underground railway station.

In order to serve construction, HCMC moved Tran Nguyen Han statue to Phu Lam Park in District 6 and Quach Thi Trang Statue was relocated to Bach Tung Diep Park in District 1.

In August 2016, the construction unit has implemented Package 1a “Construction of underground section from Ben Thanh station to Ho Chi Minh City Theater”. According to the design, the construction of the Ben Thanh central station is located in the Quach Thi Trang roundabout and extends to the 23-9 park, which is built at a depth of about 40m underground.

Upon completion, the front of Ben Thanh Market is an underground station, above the circular house, is the sky well and is the point of the underground station. The gate to the terminal will connect to the commercial areas in the surrounding areas such as Ben Thanh market, hotels and shopping centers on the neighboring roads.
