Ho Chi Minh City Petitions The Development Of Buoys In Thieng Lieng Area

(NQL) – Regarding the planning of floating buoys in Thieng Lieng area, the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City has proposed the Ministry of Transport to take advantage of the depth and natural width of the channel to invest in the construction of the wharf float, do not perform dredging or expand existing streams; researching the position and size of each berth in an investment project.

Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee also recommends that buoy wharf investments should be considered in line with the progress of relocation of the wharves on the Saigon River, the actual demand for goods from Ho Chi Minh City and after detailed plan adjustment of Seaport Group No. 5 was approved.

According to the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City about the planning of floating buoys, which will continue to operate 3 floating buoys, upgrade four existing buoys to allow 60,000 DWT vessels  anchoring, set up 6 new buoys in the area of Nga Bay (Thieng Lieng), it is necessary to receive ships of up to 60,000 DWT or more.
