Ho Chi Minh City Will Have Walk Streets On 8 Routes In The Center

The central area of Ho Chi Minh City will be divided into five subdivisions with different functions. It will direct walking space on the streets of Dong Khoi, Huynh Thuc Khang, Ton Duc Thang, Le Loi, Nguyen Hue, Pham Ngoc Thach, Vo Van Tan and Tran Cao Van.

On April 4, the HCM City Department of Transportation said that the project “organizing street routes in the center of the city” is at the beginning of the period. The research scope of the project is based on the approved planning in Decision No. 6708 / QD-UBND dated December 29, 2012.

The project identifies a number of research tasks in step by step, such as surveys, surveys and data collection of existing transport infrastructure, architectural and cultural works in the area put into operation from now to 2020.

At the same time, to work out plans for the implementation of a number of pedestrian streets according to the roadmap with the conditions for the development of synchronous transport infrastructure and connection with public transport, organize workshops to get opinions of scientists, departments and units to complete the project. Since then, the Department of Transport will complete the project to submit to the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City to review and direct.

According to the detailed urban construction plan of 1/2000 scale, the existing center of Ho Chi Minh City has been approved by the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, the center of the city will be divided into five subdivisions with other functions together.
