In the first half of the year, VEC’s revenue increased by 20 percent

According to the Vietnam Expressway Investment and Development Corporation (VEC), in the first six months of the year, 18.44 million vehicles crossed the expressways managed by the company, up 26% and over 20% in revenue over the same period in 2016.

In particular, Cau Gie – Ninh Binh Expressway welcomed 6.57 million vehicles, up 35% over the same period last year. The corresponding figure on the Noi Bai – Lao Cai Highway is VND4.3 million, up 25% over the same period; 7.57 million vehicles are served on the TP. Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay, exceeding the same period last year (VND6.4 million).

Up to June 2017, the VEC highway investment and management has served 95 million vehicles safely and smoothly, with the current average flow of 85,000 to 100,000 vehicles / day and night.

In the first 6 months of 2017, due to high traffic volume on all 3 VEC highways, 40 accidents were recorded, causing 5 deaths (no increase compared to the same period of 2016) and 64 injured ; Some highway assets are damaged.

VEC said that the current load control system has been invested and installed on all three expressways and organized 24/24 to ensure the control of all means of overload.

As a result, in 6 months, the load of 1,374,650 vehicles was inspected, thereby refusing to serve 23,000 vehicles over the load.

VEC also refuses to serve 52 vehicles in violation of regulations when traveling on expressways. “Vehicles that violate the regulations on traffic on the VEC managed highways will only be served back when committed without recidivism,” said Do Chi Chung, chief of the VEC office.
