Invested VND2,600 billion to expand 58ha at Vinh Airport

Vinh International Airport will be expanded to 58.27 hectares to implement some key projects with the total investment of up to VND2,600 billion.

The Vietnam National Airports Authority (ACV) has sent an official letter to the People’s Committee of Nghe An Province on the plan of executing key projects at Vinh Airport.

ACV said that implementing the policy of the Government and the Ministry of Transport in the strategy of developing the infrastructure system Vinh airport to meet the development needs of the aviation market in Vietnam according to development planning Transport to 2020, orientation 2030.

ACV is implementing a project to renovate and upgrade from the former domestic passenger terminal to the international passenger terminal and is preparing to implement some key projects such as the construction of passenger terminal T2, capacity designed 5 million passengers per year; Total investment is about VND1,600 billion.

These projects are expected to commence in the second quarter of 2019, completed and put into operation in the fourth quarter of 2020.

During the expansion investment, Vinh Airport will take an additional 58.27ha of land and suggested the Nghe An side to support the clearance of the location: the ground of the Guard Company – the base of Vinh airport; land of the Vietnam Airlines Petroleum Limited Company; VOD land area and the rest of Nghi Lien commune, Vinh city.

Mr. Ha Thanh Tinh, Vice Chairman of Vinh City People’s Committee said that the city agreed to implement the project of building passenger terminal T2 – Vinh International Airport in accordance with the approved plan.

At the same time, actively coordinate with the investor to carry out survey, demarcation and demarcation according to regulations.

The city also asked the investor to provide the relevant legal documents and work with the city’s People’s Committee to agree on a plan for implementation of site clearance in line with the plan for construction of public works program to meet the progress.
