According to a report by the Project Management Board of the Southern Highways, the remaining capital requirement for site clearance of the Ben Luc-Long Thanh expressway project is about VND 504 billion, while the budget The state has allocated VND383 billion according to the capital plan in 2018, which was paid out by localities.

Facing the urgent need for funding for site clearance, the VEC requested the Ministry of Transport to submit to the competent authorities allowing the unit to use the tolls of the currently under-operating VEC projects for idle to advance. for the clearance part.

Ben Luc-Long Thanh expressway project was kicked off in July 2014 by VEC as an investor. Once completed, the expressway project will shorten the transit time from Long An to Dong Nai, Ba Ria-Vung Tau and vice versa. In addition, when exploiting this highway will reduce the number of vehicles in transit through Ho Chi Minh City, reducing congestion for the gateway of Ho Chi Minh City.

Ben Luc – Long Thanh Expressway has a total length of 57.7 km, including 5.5 km in Long An Province, 25 km in HCM City and 27 km in Dong Nai Province. The project was designed by the standard highway type A with four lanes, two emergency stop lane, designed speed of 100 km / hour.

The total investment of the project is VND31.32 trillion from Asian Development Bank (ADB) loans, Japanese Government Loans through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the counterpart fund of the Vietnamese Government. As planned, the project will be completed by 2020.
