Among them, HCM City People’s Committee will prioritize to select Saigon Co-op as a cooperative partner to invest in constructing the trade center – supermarket Co.opmart.
The existing Western Bus Station will become a commercial hub
Earlier, the HCM City People’s Committee has approved the detailed plan of 1/500 scale of the new Western Bus Station in E – New South Saigon Urban Area in An Phu Tay Commune, Binh Chanh District with an area of nearly 20 hectares. Capacity is expected to serve 50,000 passengers per day and 2,500 vehicles docked in the day.
New West Bus Station is an important traffic hub, ensuring connection and connection of public transport system on National Highway 1A, Ho Chi Minh City – Trung Luong Highway and Nguyen Van Linh Avenue to ensure the connection of population quarters and new urban centers.
The new Western Bus Station is also hosted by the Transit Oriented Development (TOD) model in conjunction with a multi-functional complex including hotels, commercial services, offices, shopping centers, etc. With public transportation system such as metro line 3a, monorail number 2, fast bus – BRT and bus in future.
To organize synchronous traffic connection, to separate the flow of traffic between incoming and outbound flights, to avoid crossing conflicts and reduce congestion in the areas inside and outside the car terminals.

The HCM City People’s Committee assigned Saigon Shipping Mechanical Engineering Corporation as the investor and requested the elaboration of the detailed planning project before the end of the year.
In early 2014, the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City has written a proposal to the Ministry of Transport to adjust the planning of new Western bus station in An Phu Tay commune, Binh Chanh district – E zone of Phu My Hung scale From 16 – 20ha, instead of planning in Tan Kien commune, Binh Chanh district as before and have been approved.
Many years ago, Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee has the policy of moving the car station to the suburbs. At the same time expand the area of the bus station to meet the increasing travel needs of people.
Therefore, the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City also approved a detailed plan of 1/500 scale new Mien Dong bus terminal with an area of over 160,000 sqm in Long Binh ward, district 9 and Binh Thang ward, Di An town, Binh Duong province. Total investment is about VND 4,000 billion.
The building consists of four zones A, B, C, D. In particular, zone A is the yard, yards, public works and auxiliary with the highest building has 26 floors with an area of 122,000 sqm. Zone B is a two-story high-speed bus station, Zone C is a high-rise cargo and cargo transaction center with five floors and a 15-storey commercial and service area.
