Prime Minister: To take responsibility of the President of the province if broker and gangster in three special zones’

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc requested the presidents of the People’s Committees of Quang Ninh, Khanh Hoa and Kien Giang take responsibility before the Government and the Prime Minister for the continuation of the situation of “brokers”, gangsters in the special economic zones.

At the first meeting of the National Steering Committee for the Construction of Special Administrative Units, held today (May 14), the Prime Minister demanded that strong and effective measures be taken to rectify management of land, forests, environment and construction.

In particular, the Prime Minister requested strong measures to prevent illegal land acquisition and construction activities in Van Don (Quang Ninh), Northern Van Phong (Khanh Hoa) and Phu Quoc (Kien Giang).

At the same time to ensure social order, not to “brokers and gangsters buying and selling land prices pushed up high in the area.

“The chairmen of the People’s Committees of these provinces are responsible to the Government and the Prime Minister for the continuation of the situation,” the head of the government emphasized.

In addition, the Prime Minister assigned the People’s Committees of Quang Ninh, Khanh Hoa and Kien Giang provinces to coordinate with the Ministry of Home Affairs and relevant ministries and agencies to expeditiously complete projects on the construction of special administrative-economic units. The evaluation council shall consider and make comments in time for submission to the National Assembly.

The localities shall take the initiative in preparing and implementing the work before and after the Law on Special Administrative-Economic Units Approved by the National Assembly; To concentrate on building a plan with a strategic and quality vision to attract investment and ensure the long-term development of the special administrative-economic unit.

In parallel with this, attention should be paid to training and attracting high quality human resources, including management and professional manpower for industries identified as priority development.

Consider the issue of selecting strategic investors into special zones.

The head of the Government also requested the ministries, branches and agencies (Police, Military, Finance, Supreme People’s Court, Supreme People’s Procuracy …) to prepare all work. It is necessary to guide in detail the contents related to the organization, structure and activities … to take initiative in preparing for implementation as soon as the Law on Special Administrative-Economic Units is effective. Strengthening and developing special administrative-economic units when approved.
