Progress of the Metro 1 project (Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien)

At the end of February, the Ministry of Transport (GVTV) had a meeting on appraisal of HCM City’s urban railway line No.1 (Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien) and Line 2 (Ben Thanh). – Tham Luong).

According to the Planning and Investment Department of the Ministry of Transport and the HCM City Railway Project Management Unit, progress of Metro 1 project (Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien) has reached over 50% of volume and disbursement accounting for over 30% of capital.

The new eastern bus station is adjacent to the existing residential area in the North East, adjacent to the 13th Street to the South West, the new residential area to the South East and the North West to the Hanoi Highway.

Newly built East Bus Station consists of four zones A, B, C, D; In particular, Zone A is land for yards, public works and auxiliary works, with the tallest building of 26 floors with an area of ​​over 122,000 sqm (accounting for over 76% of the total area).

Zone B is a bus station (two floors high); Area C is a warehouse and goods trading (5 floors high); and zone D is a commercial area (15 floors high). The total investment capital of the project is VND 4,000 billion. When it comes into operation, the new East Bus Station will serve more than 7 million visitors to the Eastern, Central and Northern provinces.

According to the plan, the new East Bus Station has to complete phase 1 at the end of 2018 but the project does not guarantee progress due to problems of land clearance. The new bus station is expected to be completed this year.

The progress of My Thuy intersection project

The construction of the intersection of My Thuy intersection is divided into two phases. In particular, the first phase includes the Ky Ha 3 bridge, the overpass on Ring Road 2, the underground tunnel going from the Ring Road 2 to Cat Lai and the left and right bank of My Thuy. Phase 1 has a total investment of VND838 billion from the budget of the city. Phase 2 will be implemented from 2018 to 2020, including a 316 meter long 4-lane overpass with 4 lanes; The 7-meter-long left turn from Cat Lai to Phu My bridge with 2 lanes; My Thuy 3 bridge is 124 meters 6 lanes; Ky Ha 4 bridge on the right turn from Phu My bridge to Cat Lai, 75 meters long with 4 lanes.

At present, some sections from Sai Gon bridge to the intersection of the 2nd station (Thu Duc district) have been completed.
