Should Buses Be Used In Conjunction With BRT To Avoid Waste?

According to the director of Hanoi Center for Tax Management, not all buses are allowed to enter the BRT lane, because buses often have a stopover point opposite to BRT.

Regarding the opinion of the deputies of the People’s Council, the issue is: Can Hanoi calculate the buses commonly used in BRT buses in order to make full use of the efficiency of the bus lanes?

Nguyen Hoang Hai, Director of Hanoi Traffic Management Center (Hanoi Department of Transport), said that in fact, at the end of April, The bus pilot is usually allowed to fly at the bus stop BRT Kim Ma – Yen Nghia. This option is to avoid waste of BRT lanes, especially during peak hours.

BRT to avoid waste

Buses are usually allowed to fly at the bus stop BRT Kim Ma – Yen Nghia.

Hanoi Department of Transportation has plans to submit to the Hanoi People’s Committee for approval, however this is a non-compulsory solution. According to Hai, not all buses are allowed to enter the BRT, because the bus usually has a passing score opposite the BRT: “If every few hundred meters thrown out to pick up passengers will cause congestion, loss traffic Safety”.

As a result, shared buses will not have buses running parallel to the BRT, but rather as bus routes. These bus routes only go through several shelters then diverted away, must ensure enough length of the route.

According to Mr. Hai, this is only a solution because BRT is not running at full capacity, now it is 5 minutes/time, while the capacity is 3 minutes/time. As the BRT frequency goes up, the private lane is run only for BRT, the maximum corridor for BRT.
