Speding VND5300 Billion To Build Thu Thiem Bridge

Thu Thiem 4 bridges are constructed with cable lengths of 2.1 km. Joint venture Phat Dat – Investment and Infrastructure Development Company 620 – Investment Development 168 is the investor with a total capital of VND5,300 billion.

HCMC People’s Committee has just sent a letter to the Prime Minister on additional investment to build Thu Thiem 4 bridge linking Thu Thiem new urban area in the district through Nguyen Van Linh, District 7.

Accordingly, the HCM City People’s Committee proposed to consider and approve HCM City to invest in the construction of the Thu Thiem 4 bridge in the form of BT and allow HCM City to decide on a plan for selecting investors.

Associate Phat Dat Real Estate Development Joint Stock Company – Investment and Infrastructure Development Joint Stock Company 620 – Investment Development Joint Stock Company 168 was selected an investor for the project.

According to the design, Thu Thiem 4 bridge is constructed with a cable length of 2.1 km and static 80 x 10 m. The bridge at Nguyen Van Linh will be located at the Nguyen Van Linh – Tan Thuan 2 bridge and two bridge sections from N1, N2 from the main bridge in District 7 to Huynh Tan Phat.

Thu Thiem 4 bridge over Saigon River is included in HCMC’s transport development plan until 2020 with a vision after 2020. It is expected that Thu Thiem 4 bridge will be started in 2018 and put into operation. by the end of 2019 with the total cost of more than VND5,300 billion.

According to the plan, from now to 2020, HCM City will build four more bridges spanning Thu Thiem New Urban Area. In particular, Thu Thiem 1 bridge has been completed and put into use along the tunnel crossing the Saigon River roads through this urban area.

Thu Thiem 2 Bridge is under construction with a total investment of nearly VND3,100 billion. The remaining bridges are Thu Thiem 3 and 4 and pedestrian bridge north from District 1 to Thu Thiem is in the process of setting up the investment project.

Thu Thiem New Urban Area is located on the East bank of the Saigon River facing District 1, with a total area of 657ha. According to the 1/2000 master plan, the center of Thu Thiem new urban area is located in An Khanh, Thu Thiem, An Loi Dong and some of Binh An and Binh Khanh wards.

The central area is divided into five main areas, including the Central Core, the Northern Residential Area, the Residential Area along Mai Chi Tho Boulevard, the Eastern Residential Area, and the Southern Delta.

Functional Area 1 is located in the northern half of the Central Core, a high density multi-functional commercial center. The tallest towers are located along the edge of the Boulevard and Central Square, gradually reducing the height towards the Saigon River and the Central Lake.
