Sun Group launches the longest Hon Thom in the world crossing sea

Hon Thom has a total length of 7.9km, connecting from An Thoi town through the Hon Rom island, Hon Dua to Hon Thom.

On February 4, 2018, Kien Giang People’s Committee, Phu Quoc Island District and Sun Group officially launched a new three-wire cable car linking An Thoi Town with Hon Thom island – the largest island in An Thoi island cluster in the south of Ngoc island.

Sun World Hon Thom Nature Park will be officially opened on February 14, 2018, the 29th Lunar New Year.

Hon Thom has a total length of 7.9km

Hon Thom cable car has a total length of 7.9km, connecting from An Thoi town through the Hon Rom island, Hon Dua island to Hon Thom, Phu Quoc travel offers a novel product, scale and extremely poisonous and  attractive.

With this length, Hon Thom cable car has been awarded the World’s Longest Cable Car by the Guinness Foundation on the opening day.

The entire cable car system has two terminals, six cable posts, of which the largest is T4 with a height of 174m. With a design of 69 cabins, each cabin accommodates 30 guests, operates at a maximum speed of 8.5 m / s, Hon Thom cable car shortens the travel time of visitors from An Thoi to Hon Thom. 15 minutes instead of 30 minutes traveling by canoe at sea. The cabins have wifi, electric lighting at night.

Using the most modern and safest cable car technology in the world today, Hon Thom cable car is quiet, vibration free, no need for conventional rescue system. In bad weather, the system will automatically shut down and notify the passengers.

In 2017, Phu Quoc has received approximately 3 million visitors, although more than doubled in 2016. Sun Group is one of the three largest investors in Phu Quoc with Vingroup and CEO Group, with investment capital close VND 22 trillion.
