HCM City People’s Committee has submitted to the City People’s Council the project “Building Ho Chi Minh City into a Smart City for the period from 2017 to 2020 with a vision to 2025”.

In particular,  the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City City Council approved the policy of building a center for research and simulation of forecasts to build socio-economic development strategy for the city, shared data warehouse and opened data ecosystem development for the city and building the City Information Security Center. At the same time, there are suggestions for building a smart urban management center.

At the same time, the People’s Council of Ho Chi Minh City has approved the policy of updating the scheme based on the actual situation of the city and the opinions of people and enterprises to ensure the implementation of the scheme will be effective.

To build Ho Chi Minh City into a smart urban center in the 2017-2020 period

Accordingly, the construction of a smart urban in the context of the 4th industrial revolution, which is happening worldwide, is an urgent solution to help HCMC forecast and solve better the challenges of the urbanization process and support the seven breakthrough programs and another pressing of the people; It contributes to the improvement of the life’s quality and service’s quality to the people, facilitates people’s participation in urban management, promotes economic development, creates favorable starting points for the implementation of programs break for the next stage.
