Tho Xuan airport will be upgraded to an international airport of 5 million passengers a year

The Ministry of Transport has agreed to upgrade Tho Xuan Airport (Thanh Hoa) to become an international airport.

At the same time, the Ministry of Transport also assigned the Vietnam Aviation Administration to study and adjust the detailed planning in line with the master plan.

Tho Xuan Airport will be upgraded to 2030 from 2.5 million passengers per year to 5 million passengers per year; The Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) is responsible for researching the airport investment plan in line with the planning.

According to the Aviation Administration of Vietnam, Tho Xuan Airport is one of the fastest growing airports in the country with good infrastructure. The new passenger terminal with modern equipment, ILS precision landing system and aviation signal system are invested to upgrade the capacity of receiving, ensuring safety and exploitation.

Recently, the Vietnam Flight Management Corporation has put into operation International Air Traffic Control Station in Tho Xuan, meeting the requirements of flight safety – conditioning – effective. At the same time, ensure the provision of 24-hour flight control services including ground control, ground control, military flight control for all flight operations to and from Tho Xuan Airport and Thanh Hoa area.

Tho Xuan air traffic control station will be completed, along with the infrastructure and synchronous facilities at Tho Xuan airport, which will ensure flight control capacity of 12 times per hour, equivalent to About 105,000 trips per year.

Tho Xuan airport is located in the civil aviation system and strategic military airport of Vietnam, plays an important role in the air transport system and protects the country’s sky.

Over the past few years, passenger traffic has been rising steadily, with annual increases of nearly 300%. In 2010, Tho Xuan Airport serves over 865,000 passengers.
