Thu Thiem 2 Bridge, The Intersection Between My Thuy And Traffic Works Will Be Completed In 2018

Thu Thiem 2, four main roads in Thu Thiem urban area, My Thuy intersection … are infrastructure projects that will be completed and put into use in 2018.

Thu Thiem 2 Bridge

Thu Thiem 2 with investment capital of more than VND4,200 billion, started construction in 2015, is expected to be completed in 4/2018 after 38 months of construction. The first point of the project is to link Ton Duc Thang – Le Duan (District 1), the end point of the project at Roundabout Boulevard (Route R1, District 2).

The bridge is 6 lanes (4 lanes and 2 lanes), with a total length of 1,465m, in which the bridge length is 885.7m, designed as the cable-stayed bridge with the main tower 113m, leaning towards Thu Thiem, is the gate symbol from the city center through Thu Thiem new urban area. Along with lighting art design, Thu Thiem 2 Bridge will be a prominent architectural highlight on the Saigon River both day and night. After being put into operation, Thu Thiem Bridge will bear the burden of traffic for Thu Thiem Tunnel.

4 main roads in Thu Thiem Urban Area

The four main roads in Thu Thiem urban area have a total length of 11.9 km, including 10 bridges, total investment of more than VND12,000 billion. Started from April 2013, expected to be completed this year.

The arc intersection (R1 line) has an area of 175,721.6sqm. This is the central route and plays an important role in land allocation. Along both sides of the road is a business and residential complex. With a very important function, the route will be built in the direction of busy urban roads to take over the main traffic activities as well as events, festivals and culture of the city.

The central lake (R2) has an area of 79.218m2. This is a route that plays an important role in the development of tourism and ecology. On the side of the road are bustling business centers and complex housing; On the other side, the other side of the lake is the entertainment area.

The road along the Saigon River (R3 route) covers an area of 81,956.5 sqm. This is the route that surrounds the western peninsula. While the bordering Saigon river is convenient to the waterway, the interior surrounds the crowded commercial area.

Road delta, delta, riverside – residential area (R4) area of 38,860.9sqm.

My Thuy traffic (District 2)

My Thuy traffic was started in June 2016 with total investment capital of VND840 billion.

The construction of the intersection of My Thuy intersection is divided into two phases. In particular, the first phase includes the Ky Ha 3 bridge, the overpass on Ring Road 2, the underground tunnel going from the Ring Road 2 to Cat Lai and the left and right bank of My Thuy. In stage 1 has a total investment of VND838 billion from the budget of the city. In stage 2 will be implemented from 2018 to 2020, including a 316 meter long 4-lane overpass with 4 lanes; The 7-meter-long left turn from Cat Lai to Phu My bridge with 2 lanes; My Thuy 3 bridge is 124 meters 6 lanes; Ky Ha 4 bridge on the right turn from Phu My bridge to Cat Lai, 75 meters long with 4 lanes.

The construction of the intersection of My Thuy has not only completed the East Belt Road but also met the needs of transportation from Cat Lai port and Phu Huu port to improve traffic in the area.

When the My Thuy intersection project commences operation in early 2018, it will open more options for residents to move to residential projects in Cat Lai. At the intersection of My Thuy, residents in the area only take about 5 minutes to go to District 2 administrative center, from 10 -15 minutes to downtown districts and access to high-level entertainment, schools, international hospitals, … At the same time, this is also a favorable factor to increase the value of real estate in this area.

Going down An Suong

An Suong traffic junction was started in 2017 with investment capital of more than 500 billion VND. The project is expected to be completed by August 2015. When the tunnel is completed, An Suong 4 will form a 3-storey intersection.

An Suong junction plays an important role in transportation, transportation of Northwest gate of the city. Although this area has An Suong overpass, the traffic density is too large, the roundabout area is always in a state of congestion, especially peak hours.

The project includes 2 underground tunnels, the distance of 2 tunnels is from 9-12m. Branch N1 (direction of the city center to Tay Ninh) Truong Chinh road is 140m long, 22m high side of national highway 22. Branch N2 on Highway 22 is 120m long, Truong Chinh road is 140m long. Each tunnel will have two lanes of traffic, including one car lanes and one mixed lane.

The bridge crossed Nguyen Thai Son

Nguyen Thai Son – Nguyen Kiem flyover was started in February/2017. The total investment is VND 504 billion. At present, Nguyen Kiem – Nguyen Thai Son Bridge overpass is 362.8m long and the bridge over Nguyen Kiem – Hoang Minh Giam has been put into operation by the end of 2017. This is one of works to reduce congestion for Son Nhat airport area.
