After 10 years, the International University of Vietnam is only a wasteland

According to the design, the Berjaya Group will spend over 100 hectares to develop into one of the most modern university training centers in Southeast Asia. The International University of Vietnam was started in 2009 and will be completed in 2011 – 2021 period. However, the investor has not yet implemented compensation for people. Plans for compensation and resettlement for people in the project have not been approved and implemented.

Similarly, District 9 also spent more than 200 hectares of land in Long Phuoc Ward to build a university campus for six universities. In particular, the area of 50 hectares is the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City. Area 2 of 5 hectares will be built by Ho Chi Minh City Academic Institute. The University of Law of Ho Chi Minh City is located in the third area 29.66 ha. Area 4, 13.69 ha is Nguyen Tat Thanh University. Area 5 of 19.51 hectares building University of Finance Marketing.

Finally, the sixth zone is 16.48 hectares of Customs Finance College. Other schools have not done anything, despite the land allocation.

In addition, other universities and colleges have been allocated hundreds of hectares of land in Binh Chanh, Nha Be, District 7. It is impossible to do

At present, Ton Duc Thang University has completed five blocks of houses, dormitories, stadiums … on an area of 10 hectares in district 7. This project was started in 2008 and completed in 2011. But before that, This school has been in trouble and has been slow to start the project because of site clearance. Even at the end of 2007, when the school cleared 99.9% of the entire area, it took a year to break ground just because of a grave.

At that time, the People’s Committee of District 7, the Management Board of Saigon South and the District 7 compensation meeting ground meeting and then exchanged documents to find a solution for grave clearance. To start the project, Ton Duc Thang University must find ways to negotiate, raise the compensation price to clear the ground.

In 2006, Van Hien University was allocated 5.6 ha land plot at Nguyen Van Linh street, Binh Chanh district, HCM city. Ten years later, the new school was cleared and construction started in August. It is expected to be put into use in the 2017-2015 school year.

Meanwhile, after many years of hiring, the University of Finance Marketing moved to a new campus in Tran Xuan Soan Street, District 7. Previously, the school was allocated land in the project area of the company. Van Phat Hung Joint Stock Company. Schools must buy back the land of this investor. Inconsistency in price and failure to arrange finance led the school to not be able to purchase the land.

Leaders of the University of Finance said that schools have to compensate the land allocated by HCM City to build new facilities is not possible. This is not a commercial project so the investor can not negotiate the price with the people. The people who have landed in the project are not compensated by the State, so they do not give land to the schools. Therefore, very few schools built new offices and moved to the suburbs.

Ms. Mai Hong Quy, Rector of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Law, said that HCM City does not allocate clean land, the school cannot build facilities in district 9. “At present, the school has money but entangled procedures compensation, compensation. City People’s Committee HCM needs to support schools in clearance or clean land allocation, then they may accelerate the relocation of schools to the suburbs, “Quy said.

Leaders of many universities also said that the delay in building new facilities in the suburbs was the allocation of land by the HCM City People’s Committee, but the school must compensate for the compensation. While the amount of compensation and land clearance is equivalent to the amount of money that the school devoted to the construction of new facilities. Schools do education tasks, revenue sources should be compensated, ground clearance is impossible to do.
