Vice Chairman of Hanoi: Proposing to prosecute investors to overcome fire prevention violations

Standing Deputy Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Van Suu said that he will transfer the file, prosecution investigation under the law for investors of high-rise apartment buildings violate fire safety (Fire) but not, not overcome.

At the meeting on reviewing the situation of fire prevention and fighting in Hanoi held today (3/4), Vice Chairman Nguyen Van Suu confirmed that the city is very interested in prevention and treatment fire.

According to Nguyen Van Suu, despite the situation of fire and explosion from the beginning of the year has reduced both the number of cases and damage but there are still many potential problems that lead to fire and explosion.

In response to this development, the Hanoi vice-chairman strictly criticized the Hanoi Department of Construction for the fact that in the last 6 months of 2017 and the first quarter of 2018, no water pump was installed, while the city lacked 3,477 piers and needed 577 water cylinders.

Regarding the treatment of 29 unfinished buildings to overcome the violations of fire prevention, Vice President Nguyen Van Suu Hanoi requested to continue processing before April 30 with the work can overcome OK.

After this time, the police force, the fire police of the city transferred a list of investors waiting for the City People’s Committee to consider the proposal to prosecute investigation and handle the law.

According to the report of the Hanoi Fire Fighting Police, in 2017 and the first quarter of 2018 in the city happened 1,100 fires and explosions. In particular, there are 820 cases in 2017, 280 cases in the first quarter of 2018, and 87 cases in high buildings.

These fires have killed 24 people, injured 18 people, property damage estimated at 617 billion. As of 2/4, the city has 50/79 works have been tested on fire prevention.

As such, the city still has 29 works violated fire prevention, of which 15 works difficult to overcome.
