Ho Chi Minh City Study Underground Tunnel Construction More Than VND 1000 Billion At The An Phu Intersection

The An Phu intersection will have a total investment of VND 1,036 billion, divided into two stages. The first stage will be a two-lane tunnel with 4 lanes.

Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee has proposed to the Ministry of Transport to unify the construction scale at the An Phu intersection, District 2 in the complete and construction investment stages.

It is known that the total investment capital is expected to be VND 1,036.7 billion, deducted from the surplus capital of Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay expressway project. With the new traffic at this An Phu intersection, it will definitely reduce traffic congestion here.

Infrastructure planning at An Phu intersection

Under the investment plan, the project will be divided into two stages, including:

• Stage 1: Construction of two-way underground tunnel with 4 lanes connecting Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay expressway with Mai Chi Tho road toward Sai Gon crossing tunnel and vice versa have total investment An estimate of VND 1,036.7 billion.
• Stage 2: Complete the intersection investment on the approved scale.

In addition, Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee suggested the Ministry of Transport to unify the city to appraise and approve the project at the intersection of An Phu, phase 1 and hand over the project file to the Development Investment Corporation The Viet Nam Expressway (VEC) will carry out further investment with extra funds from the Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay Expressway project.

After the two-way tunnel is put into use, the traffic at the An Phu intersection will become more open.

According to the proposal of the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, the sound of the intersection will be arranged 2-way underground tunnel connecting Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay high way with Mai Chi Tho direction toward the tunnel crossing Saigon River and vice versa.

Floors 1 (Floating) will be arranged over Mai Chi Tho street in the direction of connecting two ways between Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay Expressway and Luong Dinh Cua.

At that time, the light rail line Long Thanh – Thu Thiem and Ho Chi Minh City – Nha Trang railway will go high, crossing Mai Chi Tho street to Thu Thiem station.
