Ring Road 3, after completion, will help solve the problem of traffic jams in many areas of District 9 in general and the Cat Lai area in particular and create a shortened “wire” connection.

Ring Road 3 goes through 8 Districts of 4 provinces

According to planning information, the ring road 3 is expected to start in the fourth quarter 2017, will cross the boundary of 8 districts of 4 provinces. As follows:

• Ho Chi Minh City includes 1 Town and 3 Districts: District 9, Cu Chi District, Hooc Mon District, Binh Chanh District.
• Dong Nai Province consists of 1 district: Nhon Trach District
• Binh Duong consists of 2 districts: Di An District, Thuan An District;
• Long An Province consists of 1 District: Ben Luc District

It is known that the Ring Road 3 has a total length of 89.3 km, including 73 km, while My Phuoc – Tan Van 16.3 km is currently invested by Binh Duong Province. The total investment capital for the project is about VND 55,805 billion (excluding the bridge overpass) with the state budget, government bonds and ODA.

Ring Road 3 starts at Km 38 + 500 highway expressway Ben Luc – Long Thanh (Nhon Thanh area), northbound route crossing Dong Nai river at Nhon Trach bridge, expressway crossing Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay (at Km 8 + 772), intersection of National Highway 1A (Hanoi Highway) in Tan Van area, the route goes to Tan Van – My Phuoc, The intersection of Highway 13 (at Km 14 + 200 + Highway 13) in Thu Dau Mot Town, across the Saigon River (Binh Hang Bridge) is about 500 meters downstream from Ba Lea Port. Highway 22 in Hoc Mon District (Tan Hiep Industrial Zone) at Km 8 + 800 along National Highway 22, paralleling An Ha canal, through My Yen – Tan Buu Industrial Park to the end of intersection with  Ho Chi Minh City Trung Luong and Ben Luc – Long Thanh expressway.

Economic experts said that the main objective of Ring Road 3 is to connect satellite towns and industrial parks to the core area of the Southeast region, The traffic in the city, especially a large number of trucks, cars in transit on the highway, high speed into the city.

Where does the current Ring Road 3 progress?

The progress of Ring Road 3 is divided into many stages. Specifically, the section from the highway of Ben Luc – Long Thanh (Nhon Trach) – Highway 1A (Tan Van) has a length of 26.3 km, investment capital VND 14.749 billion and it will be completed in 2017 – 2018.

The section from National Highway 22 to Ho Chi Minh City-Trung Luong Highway which is 29 km long with 16,375 billion investment capital and it will be completed before 2019. The last section from Binh Chuan – National Highway 22 is 17.5 km long with 9,814 billion investment capital and it will be completed before 2020.

How does Ring Road 3 impact on District 9 traffic infrastructure and District 9 apartment projects?

Besides the Ring Road 2, the Ring Road 3 is considered a key route to open new economic development opportunities for Ho Chi Minh City in general and District 9 in particular. In order to catch up with the trend of investment in the future, many real estate investors are pouring in here to buy land and apartment projects along the road 3 as a necessity for long-term investment strategy.

When the ring roads come into operation, especially the Ring Road 3, will address the key bottlenecks in District 9’s transport infrastructure and apartment projects.
