Japan Design Rice Paddies In A 9-Storey Building

Inside the nine-story building, there are rice paddies, fruit and vegetable beds that are used to cook for the staff. In addition to food, the house also grows flowers and is changed seasonally to create a fresh, green space.

Kono Designs has created a green space both inside and outside the 9-storey office building in Tokyo.

The building has a total area of 20,000 sqm, of which 4,000 sqm is used to plant 200 different crops such as rice, vegetables, fruit trees …

All food and foodstuffs will be harvested for the meals of those who work in the building.

Employees in the company are encouraged to spend time caring for the plant. Some tree care specialists will be the main force to ensure that the plant grows well.

Rice is traditionally grown in wetlands.

Designers and company leaders hope to make people more engaged with nature.

Although there is no sunshine in the house, the tree grows well thanks to the LED system.
