3,735 Billion VND To Construct Cam Ranh Terminal Airport

The Cam Ranh International Terminal Airport (Cam Ranh International Terminal) (CRTC) is the investor of Cam Ranh International Airport (Cam Ranh International Terminal) with a total capital of 3.735 billion VND, built at the Cam Ranh national airport (Cam Nghia Ward, Cam Ranh City, Khanh Hoa Province).

Accordingly, apart from the 20% capital that CRTC owns, Vietcombank branches in Nha Trang and Vietinbank Khanh Hoa each contribute 50% of the remaining capital, of which Vietcombank Nha Trang is the main focal point.

On 27/02/2017, in the city of Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa province took place the Signing Ceremony of financing credit for the project “International Terminal – International Airport”

Cam Ranh International Terminal Airport Project officially commenced on September 8th, 2016 on the area of 60,000sm, with a design of parking lot for wide-body aircraft, 6 parking lots along with 8 passenger pick-up lines and 12 mobile lifts.

The first phase is expected to be completed after 18 months of construction with the capacity to welcome up to 2,000 passengers, with a capacity of 4 million passengers per year.

Phase 2 will be completed in 2030 with a capacity of 8 million passengers per year and the capacity of peak time is more than 4,000 passengers.

Cam Ranh International Airport is currently overloaded. According to Tran Son Hai, Standing Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa People’s Committee, the design capacity of the port currently receives only 1.5 million visitors per year. But in 2015, Cam Ranh Port welcomed more than 2.7 million visitors, exceeding 200% of design capacity.

At the beginning of 2016, Vietnam Airlines Corporation has invested to increase the capacity to 2.5 million passengers per year. However, the number of tourists arriving at Cam Ranh Port has increased, causing the overcrowding to occur. According to the latest data, in the first eight months of 2016, the number of tourists passing Cam Ranh Port has increased to 3.3 million. In addition, the enhancement of international flights using Code-E aircraft requires infrastructure to be upgraded as quickly as possible.
