Da Nang: Call For Investment 3 Housing Projects For Workers

According to statistics, there are 06 industrial zones in Da Nang City with nearly 75.000 workers, of which more than 30.000 workers actually have demand for housing.

However, up to now, in the city, there are no workers housing projects completed and put into utilization, workers still have to live in the areas built by the people with low quality.

In response to this situation, the Danang People’s Committee issued Decision No. 1772/QD-UBND dated 03/4/2017 approving the project on housing development for workers in industrial zones in the city to 2020 and orientation to 2030.

Accordingly, the target for 2020 resolves housing demand for at least 20% of workers in industrial zones with housing needs. And by 2030 resolve housing demand for at least 35% of workers at Industrial zones need housing.

In order to achieve the above objective, the city called on real estate developers, industrial park infrastructure enterprises, labor intensive enterprises in the industrial zone and people to invest in the construction of workers’ houses, call on house owners to renovate, repair and upgrade the homestay to meet the minimum standards for accommodation in accordance with the regulations.

Some housing projects for workers in Da Nang are inactive for many years because the business is not interested but because there is no policy mechanism to support.

From now to 2020, the city will call for off-budget funds to invest in 3 housing projects for workers in mixed-use land in the vicinity of Hoa Cam industrial zone (Cam Le district), land lot B4-1, B4-2, Hoa Hiep 4 resettlement area (Lien Chieu district) and functional transformation 02 concentrated hostels in the west and west in Hoa Khanh industrial zone (Lien Chieu District) to workers’ housing.

Investors implement the project will be entitled to incentive and support measures in accordance with the law (such as exemption from land use fees, land rental, exemption, reduction of VAT and corporate income tax, preferential loans from the Social Policy Bank and credit institutions, etc..)

In addition, the City People’s Committee assists the investor in the cost of site clearance and investment in the construction of technical infrastructure outside the project to ensure complete connectivity to the infrastructure, provide free sample designs, typical worker housing designs, reduce the time spent solving administrative procedures during project implementation and waiving all costs of implementing construction procedures…

Industrial workers buy, rent, lease or buy workers’ houses will be preferential loans through the Bank for Social Policies as prescribed. In addition, the city called for the establishment and organization of the Workers ‘Co-operative and the Workers’ Housing Support Fund to support and create favorable conditions for workers to buy, rent or buy houses at projects…
