In 2016 There Will Be Nearly 500 Projects Requiring Land Acquisition

That is the number for Natural Resources and Environment Department presented in the report to the People’s Council on the list of projects requiring land recovery and the list of projects that use rice land and forest land in 2016.

Accordingly, there will be a total of 491 projects requiring land acquisition with an area of nearly 3,300 ha. Of these, 298 will be transitional projects by 2015, the remainder being new ones. According to the report of Natural Resources and Environment Department, in the number of projects to be recovered in 2016, there is a project to change the land use purpose of fewer than 10 hectares of paddy land, less than 20 hectares of protective forest land.

Particularly, the demand for changing the purpose of rice cultivation of individual households is highest in suburban districts such as Can Gio, Hoc Mon, Cu Chi, District 9 … Natural Resources and Environment Department also proposes the City People’s Committee to publish the information about Land use planning of districts, on the website of the People’s Committee to get opinions in 30 days.

It is known that in 2013 Ho Chi Minh City has 536 projects in the area as investors do not or delay implementation to return the interests of affected people.
