PASSENGER TRANSPORTATION: SUSPEND THE CONNECTION AND INVEST IN NEW VEHICLES

In the afternoon of October 24^th, HCM City Department of Transportation said that the HCM City People’s Committee approved the pilot application of science and technology to support management and connection of passenger transportation under the contract in the city.

In order to stabilize the transportation activities in the city, the City People’s Committee assigned the Department of Transport and Communications to request the units supplying software applications and transport units operating in the city temporarily to stop connection and to suspend investment in new cars (cars of 9 seats or less) until the Ministry of Transport shall organize the pilot reviews and report them to the Prime Minister to decide.

The Transport Ministry urgently reviews and drafts a proposal to the Ministry of Transport to conduct a pilot review of the application of science and technology to support the management and connection of passenger transport activities under the contract, submitted to the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City.

The City Department of Taxation coordinated with the Department of Finance, Department of Transportation City to report and to advise the City People’s Committee in the management of tax for taxi transport business units, business services such as Uber, Grab and other types similar in the city. At the same time, there is a form of transparent public information to report to the Central Government and the deliberative orientation, to avoid complaints filed by traditional taxis on “Uber, Grab favor on tax obligations”.
